ABSTRACT PAINTING WITH COLD WAX and OILS

In this 3 day workshop, you will explore ways to build up abstract oil paintings in layers, through the use of cold wax medium, tube paint, pigment sticks and powdered pigments--and discover new ways to create textures, lines, and color fields using a wide variety of tools and techniques.
Presentations and resources about abstraction are also included in the workshop. Some painting experience is a pre-requisite for this workshop.

I have been developing these techniques for the past six years, and I’m eager to share what I’ve learned. My intention for this workshop is that you will leave fired up with fresh ideas for your own unique direction and ongoing work.

Bio: Rebecca Crowell is an abstract painter represented by galleries in Santa Fe, NM; Scottsdale, AZ; Madison, WI; Minneapolis, MN; and Door County, WI. Her work is found in hundreds of private, public and corporate collections nationwide. She holds an MFA in Painting from Arizona State University and has had considerable teaching experience in university and workshop classrooms.
